KIAWAH RIVER POOLSIDE WELCOME PARTY

Many couples now choose to host several events during the wedding weekend – from welcome parties to rehearsal dinners to even a day after brunch. These events allow their family and guests to spend more time together and with the couple themselves – after all, isn’t that why they came to your wedding? It’s so important to capture your wedding weekend in its entirety to be able to remember and look back on those special moments as well. When you do this, you have more photos of your family and friends, more candids, more documentation of your fashion and event details, and most importantly – more moments and memories to look back on.

A New Community

Kiawah River, a new development in the Charleston sea islands, finds its home on 2,000 acres across from Kiawah Island – just 20 miles from Charleston. This community includes neighborhoods, water views, green spaces, and even exploring trails. With its planned additions of storefronts, venues, sports venues, gardens, guest cabins, and even adventure guides, this community is sure to be a stunning development over time.

Spring House

Spring House, the newest amenity to be completed in Kiawah River, is a waterfront event space with a well-designed pool and lounge. This venue can host various event types – but my favorite might be the poolside welcome party.

Kiawah River Poolside Welcome Party

A pre-wedding party is perfect for bringing together your closest friends and family in a casual environment before the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. They are also a great chance for family members on both sides to get to know one another – to calm any nerves and get everyone relaxed. This Kiawah River poolside welcome party was the perfect alternative to a fun, carefree, and casual sit-down dinner.

If the welcome party isn’t your thing, a post-wedding party or brunch is another great option – and I think poolside is the perfect setting for that as well. Usually, these events are a way to say thank you (and goodbye) to your out-of-town guests. They also provide the perfect outlet to slow down and really relish your time without the stress of wedding-day jitters.

What To Wear

But what to wear to a poolside event? Take a cue from our couple at their Kiawah River poolside welcome party. Relaxed fabrics, like linen, in neutral colors, are a perfect choice here. Our groom kept things casual in a button-up chambray color and paired it with simple linen pants. Adding to the look, he kept things fun with a modern take on the classic Rayban sunglasses and a simple black sandal. Our bride kept her look “bridal” with an ensemble in cream and taupe. But her bow-backed top and coordinating sandals added drama and made her stand out as the star of the show. Simple gold hoops and a top-knot complete her elegant yet trendy look – comfortable, classic, and fun.
