North Avenue Summer Engagement Session

Ok – can we talk about how STUNNING Victoria + John’s North Avenue summer engagement session is? They actually had multiple people stop them during the course of the session on their wardrobe – and it was worthy of every bit of praise!

The city was bustling because the holiday weekend was coming up and we had absolutely beautiful weather. They’re so sweet and so cute together – I love the way they look at each other! We had such a fun time together – I hope you all enjoy getting to know Victoria + John and love them just as much as I do.

Some Light Googling

John and Victoria met online. Before agreeing to a first date, Victoria googled him and realized they had some mutual connections, as John went to college with some of Victoria’s family. The rest is, as they say, history, as they have been dating for about 2.5 years now.

Same Place, Next Year

For their first date, John and Victoria met at SoHo house and later went across the street to Parlor, where they stayed until they turned the lights on. It was a Wednesday night and John had a 6:30am flight the next morning for work, but John made his flight on time and brought Victoria back a travel mug souvenir from his trip. They have been back to SoHo every June 28th since – love that!

Ring? What Ring? I Want The Dog!

After their first dog suddenly passed away, John decided the perfect way to propose would be with a puppy. He told Victoria he was going to help his friend work on his car, but instead went to pick up a puppy and ask Victoria’s parents for their blessing to propose. When he got home, he asked Victoria to come outside to help him with some groceries. When Victoria saw him outside, John was down on one knee holding a puppy. He must’ve asked her to marry him 5 times because she kept asking about the dog.

Family, Friends, and Fun

I learned, while photographing their North Avenue summer engagement session, that Victoria and John love to travel, spend time with their family, and host get-togethers at their place. And apparently Victoria can put together a mean cheese plate! On the average weeknight, they’re hanging out with their dogs and if the weather’s right, they take the top off the Jeep and go for a ride.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

Victoria loves how kind and grounded John is. She says when the sky seems like it’s falling around her, John reminds her everything is going to be ok. John loves Victoria’s bubbly personality and that she’s always open to trying new things to support his hobbies.

In Their Own Words

I asked Victoria and John to describe their relationship in one sentence. This was their response: “Being together feels like home.” And that’s how it should be, right?

Thank you, Victoria and John, for allowing me to be a part of your wedding process. I cannot wait to shoot your wedding this December!
