Greek Chicago Wedding

I LOVE when I can shoot a wedding that has a distinct cultural style. I loved getting to know them through their engagement session, so I was so excited to be a part of Stacy and Jeremy’s Greek Chicago wedding.

It’s All Greek To Me

My favorite weddings are weddings in which the couple is allowed to be themselves and share in family and cultural traditions—Stacy and Jeremy’s Greek Chicago wedding the perfect example of this. The ceremony traditions are amazing, and the reception traditions are just plain FUN! I also love the family-oriented aspect of the day – it is always brimming with love.

Gettin’ Ready

Stacy got ready in her childhood home with all of her close friends and family. This made for some truly intimate moments, and I am so honored to be the one to capture them. Jeremy got ready at his parent’s home, further driving home the family-oriented theme of the day.  The best part about their family story? Stacy and Jeremy met through her cousin, who was the maid of honor!

It’s Getting Hot In Here

It was CRAZY hot out for their wedding, which is totally unusual for a May wedding date in Chicago. But Stacy and Jeremy handled it well – you would never have known! Although they were hot from their bus with broken AC (on the hottest day!), they still had amazing portraits with me.

Family Togetherness

Everyone was so excited to celebrate and be together after a year of so long apart, with little to do. It was the perfect family gathering and was a fantastic day. While all weddings are special and a great time to gather as a family, I think it was even more special to have this Greek Chicago wedding after the year that was 2020!

Shapeshifter

One of my favorite style details of the day was Stacy’s gown by Stephen Yearick. Her gown featured a detachable train that provided a WOW factor! The train created a fuller silhouette, perfect for a traditional church ceremony. But when that train was removed for the reception, it created an absolutely stunning silhouette. So dramatic and fun!

The vendor team worked really well together, and it’s always great when the vendor team meshes well  – it makes for a seamless day for the team and the couple. Thank you, Stacy and Jeremy, for allowing me to be a part of this vendor team and to capture your wedding day. I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in the Cayman Islands!
