I LOVE this North Avenue Beach engagement session of Jess and Wes. It was SO COLD that day – but you would never know from the heat radiating from these two! Read on to learn more about this adorable couple.
Work Meet Cute
Jess and Wes met at work four years ago as brand new consultants. Friends first, they hung out mostly in a group setting. But that all changed when Jess made the first move at a local bar. The rest is history!
Wes proposed during a Winter break visit to Charlotte, where the couple plans to move. Jess had a feeling that he would propose during the trip, since they had been discussing it for a while AND he called her parents a few weeks prior. He took Jess to Freedom Park, a beautiful local spot, and the two of them walked around the pond and amphitheater. She did not know it at the time, but this lovely walk was actually stalling! The surprise photographer was late, so he had to get creative. Finally the photographer came and Wes got down on one knee – and she said yes! After the proposal came a mini photo shoot and a seafood dinner!
Jess and Wes are totally opposite. Jess is your type-a, organized, planning extrovert. Wes is relaxed, chill, introverted, and go-with-the-flow. But as we all know, opposites attract!
In Their Own Words
“We have become SUCH home-bodies especially with quarantine. I joke with Wes that we should do “date night” and he says “Jess, we are pretty much always doing date night” haha. Our favorite date nights could include activities like cooking a meal together (something new is always fun and exciting), watching a movie, or just hanging out and chatting over a glass of wine.”
Thank you, Jess and Wes, for allowing me to capture part of your love story at your North Avenue Beach engagement session!
