Diana and Tom couldn’t have had a better intimate Chicago wedding this past weekend. Many 2020 couples had their original plans turned upside down due to shutdowns and quarantine. However, Diana and Tom didn’t let it stop them from having a beautiful wedding on their original date. Their wedding was beautiful, intimate and oh so sweet and I’m so happy for them!
We kept the original getting ready plans and Diana got ready at her parent’s house and Tom got ready at his parent’s house. Everyone was in good spirits. Diana’s dress was ABSOLUTELY stunning. And there wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Diana read her letter from Tom.
Diana and Tom opted to have a first look, which I always adore! They had a traditional Polish blessing before we went off to the church os this allowed them to get rid of any pre-ceremony nerves and enjoy each other’s company for a few minutes, just the two of them.
They got married at the same church where Tom went to church and school, his parents were married, and the priest was the best man at Tom’s father’s wedding. There were so many personal ties to this church. Diana and Tom stole smiles and glances with each other throughout the ceremony and held hands as often as they could.
Bride and Groom Portraits
Everyone hopped on the party bus and we went to the Wrigley Building for their bridal party and bride and groom portraits. Can we take a moment of appreciation for the beautiful, soft purple color Diana chose? I knew from our engagement session that their wedding portraits were going to be absolutely beautiful and they sure didn’t disappoint.
Since their plans for their original venue were not able to happen, Tom’s parents hosted a small Chicago intimate wedding reception in their backyard. Diana and Tom took a few more portraits, shared their first dance, and cut their cake as a married couple. The whole day was sweet and even more than what they had planned and thought it could be.
