Alexis and Devin’s day was the epitome of a modern regal wedding which was so suited for the Armour House! The Armour House is one of my favorite venues and I was so excited to be back for their day. These two also had the exact weather you would want for your June wedding.
Alexis was surrounded by the sweetest and most supportive girls the morning of her wedding. They helped Alexis and myself all throughout the morning with smiles on their faces. The guys relaxed, ate Chick-Fil-A and helped Devin get ready for him to see his bride. Alexis had the cutest pop of blue with her Ted Baker shoes to go with her custom made wedding down.
It was time for their first look! One of Alexis’ favorite part about the Armour House was the peony garden. Since Alexis loves peonies, we decided to do their first look there. Their reactions were SO sweet. I love seeing how each couple reacts. Devin laughed and cried because he was just so happy to see his beautiful soon to be wife. I also love seeing all the stress and anxiety wipe away from my couples once they’re together.
The bridal party looked so sophisticated. The navy blue was a perfect choice for this great looking group. These 8 people were the perfect choice for Alexis and Devin. They were friendly and nice and helped keep things fun and relaxed throughout the whole day.
At Alexis and Devin’s engagement session, we only had about 45 minutes for their whole session due to weather. Despite only having 45 minutes, they killed it and were amazing. I knew the photos we’d get for them on their wedding day were going to be just as perfect!
Then Alexis had a first look with both of her parents. It was such an emotional moment for all of them. Their first baby was getting married. It was so sweet to see how much she means to both of her parents.
Alexis for the ceremony kept things traditional and wore a long veil and covered her face. Everyone smiled, laughed, and cried throughout their ceremony. I loved seeing how much her mom, sister, and bridesmaids beamed with pride. At the end of the ceremony, Devin gave a speech thanking all of the bridal party and their family.
We set aside time before they went to cocktail hour for some HUSBAND and WIFE portraits, because they were now the new Mr. & Mrs. Soto!!! It’s always so fun to see the joy in my couple’s faces after the ceremony. It’s as if all the stress, nerves, and worries of the morning disappear! Nothing else matters now and it’s time to party and have fun!
Their reception was so classic and elegant. My favorite part of their evening was the speeches. Speeches are always some of my favorite moments from the day because I love hearing about the couple through the perspective of their friends and family. Devin’s best man, Thomas, talk about all the great things Devin possesses in his personality and made the crowd laugh. Alexis’ sister, Brooke, shared how Devin helped bring them closer together. She surprised Alexis with a story on how she wrote her college application essay on how she looked up to her sister. There wasn’t a single dry eye!
Alexis and Devin are two truly amazing individuals who are strong, smart, and caring. I couldn’t be happier for them!!
