I got to go to a new location for Kim & John’s downtown Frankfort engagement session! It was such a cute little area that had a great forest preserve and park across the street! The sun even decided to show up for their engagement session! (Score!) This was my first time meeting Kim and John because when we had their consultation, they were in Korea! They’re now back and planning a beautiful wedding at Kim’s family’s old farm.
Kim and John met while working for the same teaching program in Korea. They arrived on the same day in 2016 and met at the airport. Less than 2 months later, they started dating and have been together for over 2 years.
There was a group of them that did everything together. They always went out together and hung out doing nothing together. One night, John and Kim ran into each other and just hung out the two of them. Kim didn’t think anything of it, but John likes to say it was their first date. For their official date, they went to a busy part of town, had Chinese, walked around and ended with a shared banana split.
They had a two-week vacation and decided to spend it together to an island off the southern coast of South Korea, Jeju. Kim said that one morning, at 5 am, John’s alarm went off. She thought it was unusual because John is not a morning person. A few minutes later, he asked her if she wanted to go watch the sunrise. They went to a beach nearby and watched the sunrise… after some time, John had Kim stand up so he could ask her to marry him.
They love to travel together, play games, and just be together. John loves how Kim can turn his mood around the second he sees her thanks to her amazing personality and smile and Kim loves every minute she’s with him because it’s always so much fun.
These two are so calm, fun, and silly with each other, always laughing. It was so easy to see at their engagement session that they are best friends and truly make each other very happy! I can’t wait for their wedding this June!
