Olive Park Couple Portrait Session | Nicole & Jacob | Chicago Wedding Photographer |

Being excited for this shoot was an understatement! My sophomore year of college, I decided to join the Hawkeye Marching Band and that is where I met Nicole! Nicole and I both played mellophone and at the first section get together we danced to “Boom Clap” by Charli XCX and became friends from there! Nicole runs her own blog called Bolt Blogs and is amazing for people who enjoy make up, Starbucks, Katy Perry, cute comfy neutral colored clothes, tips and advice, and more! So when you’re done enjoying Nicole and Jacob’s story and photos, check her out!

Mayflower Hall… The dorm where it all started. Nicole and Jacob were freshmen excited to finally be in college and see where life takes them. They lived on the same floor and had lots of mutual friends. They would all get together and hangout and Nicole had always thought Jacob was cute and Jacob thought the same as well. Their mutual friend, Meg, tipped Nicole off that Jacob seemed to be into Nicole too. Nicole jokes, “I guess we owe our relationship to her because the rest is history!”.

Their first official date was at an Italian restaurant in Iowa City called, Givanni’s which sadly is no longer around. The lovely dinner followed some Yotopia froyo for dessert (yum!) and a nice, cozy evening inside watching a movie. When Nicole and Jacob do things together now, you can expect the same activities as their first date. They love to go out to eat, vacation to warm beach locations with lots of drinks in hand, watch movies or a TV show together in their Chicago apartment where they now reside.

I love how the two interact with each other. Nicole is a social butterfly who loves to go out and chat with people and isn’t afraid to show her emotions, where as Jacob is very logical, reserved and quiet. Jacob can make Nicole laugh at almost anything he says and you can tell Jacob loves Nicole’s bubbly, outgoing personality. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the sunset was even more stunning.  We had a great time walking around and catching up. Also – shout out to the guy who help us with Jacob’s tie! Haha! Olive Park was the perfect location for their pictures. I love how these pictures represent not only their relationship together, but their new chapter together in the city!

Nicole and Jacob,
Thank you so much for letting me capture your relationship! I had such a great time seeing you both and catching up. You two are awesome! I’m glad Iowa gave me the opportunity to meet two lovely people like you! I hope you enjoy them and I can’t wait to see you again!
-Alex
